Template Keyboards are provided to help you author new keyboards. They contain keys laid out in various patterns (e.g., to save you the trouble of lining up rows and columns) but all the keys are "empty" -- that is, their function, appearance, sound, etc., have not been defined.
Template Keyboards range in size from very small (i.e., one row by two columns -- named "tmp1x2.kbd") to fairly large (i.e., five rows by ten columns -- named "tmp5x10.kbd" - see picture above). Template Keyboards also are available to help you make easy Puzzle Keyboards™ (tmpuzzez.kbd), difficult Puzzle Keyboards™ (tmpuzzhd.kbd),Speech Keyboards™ (tmpspeak.kbd), and Memory-Assessment Keyboards™ (e.g., tmpmem1p.kbd, tmpmem2p.kbd, etc.).
