Smart Lists™
(A REACH™ 5 "Add-On") Smart Lists is a new (Patent Pending) approach to typing which has been shown to be highly effective in reducing the number of clicks and increasing speed - especially for persons using scanning input. Select a key from the keyboard and it opens up showing a list of candidate letters in the context of what already has been typed. Candidates can be listed alphabetically (e.g., when using point-and-click) or by their frequency of use (i.e., when scanning). In previous versions you had to purchase Smart Keys™ in order to purchase Smart Lists™, but now you can purchase Smart Lists™ without Smart Keys™. |

Smart Keys™
(A REACH™ 5 "Add-On") Type the first letter in a word and Smart Keys searches all the open dictionaries to determine which letters follow that letter. Depending on your preference, Smart Keys can remove unlikely keys, gray them out, or change their color. If only one word is found it can be typed automatically by using the AutoType option. Research has shown that Smart Key technology significantly increases the number of letters typed in a set period of time for persons not familiar with keyboards and (especially) for persons using scanning keyboards. |

"Sounds
Like"- Spell, Write!™
This amazing new approach to typing uses a phonetic keyboard. The user finds a word by selecting the sounds in the word (e.g., phonemes) instead of the letters in the word. This "phonetic typing" (patent pending) approach to typing was shown to significantly increase spelling accuracy in both children and adults with spelling disabilities. This product is for someone who has problems with spelling but is able to use a standard keyboard and mouse. If the candidate user has trouble using a keyboard and mouse because of a physical mobility disability, check out AHF's "Sound-It-Out Phonetic Keyboard" product (an add-on for REACH™). |

SoothSayer Word
Prediction™ This program combines word prediction features with extensive speech output to help you find the word or sentence you are looking for. The user interface is very friendly and makes it easy to manage the many available options. Build your own custom dictionaries from text files. Speak highlighted text, word options when pointed at, last word or sentence, letters/words/sentences as you type, etc. Only show the SoothSayer window when you get "stuck" (for example, after you have typed two or more letters and paused for five seconds). Have the words read aloud one at a time until you hear the one you want. |

REACH
Sound-It-Out Phonetic Keyboard™ (Fully-Functioning Demo Available Now - Download the REACH 5 Demo) Great for people who have difficulty spelling. With this phonetic keyboard (Patent Pending), you "type" your word by selecting the sounds in that word instead of the letters. Point at a key, and its phonemic sound is played. Point at the suggested words to hear them spoken aloud and click on them to type them. Brief descriptions are provided for homophones to help you decide which is the word you are seeking. A replay feature lets you identify visually and aurally the individual sounds you have selected to that point and a play button blends them. This product is for someone who has problems with spelling as well as having trouble using a keyboard and mouse (because of a physical mobility disability). ScanBuddy™
(New Version 2 is Vista-Compatible) ScanBuddy™ 2 lets you click, double-click, drag, etc., your mouse on any part of your display by using a single switch (i.e., using single or inverse single switch scanning), two switches (i.e., using dual-switch scanning), or hot keys on your keyboard. There are several options, but the most standard method combines a special form of row/column scanning (to identify a specific area on the display) and then line scanning (to select a specific point). This approach to scanning is very fast and easy. ScanBuddy™ works by itself, but probably is most effective when it is used in conjunction with REACH Interface Author™ with Smart Lists™ (for text entry). In all REACH Versions 2.5 or higher, REACH and the ScanBuddy™ are coordinated to seamlessly transfer control back and forth for simplified text entry and full-screen mouse emulation. ScanBuddy™ is included in the "REACH Scan Plus™" product (see above) and "SoothSayer Scan Plus™" (see below). |

Mouse&Caret
Buddy™ This program helps you locate your mouse cursor and text caret by showing pictures next to them. This is useful for persons with limited vision or attention. Choose from a variety of pictures that come with it or use your own graphics. Picture size can be adjusted. The pictures can be set to disappear or appear when the mouse or keyboard haven't been used for a period of time. |

REACH Smart
Speech™ (Available late Fall 2007) Select the "I" key, and a list of related words is presented for immediate speech/typing. Select the "I..(past)" option, and 1) the word "I" is typed, 2) a new keyboard is displayed on which the most frequently used past-tense singular verbs are displayed, 3) that same keyboard has letters that can be typed in case a less frequent verb is sought, and 4) when typing, Smart Lists presents only words that are past tense singular case verbs!
